Daikin continues its "Dust-Free Classroom" project in the eastern region by delivering a new prototype classroom to the Child Development Center of the Nikhom Phatthana Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Rayong. This initiative aims to create a learning environment free from air pollution and to enhance the quality of life for Thai youth, under the commitment to provide clean air for the future of the nation.

This project is a collaboration between Daikin Industries (Thailand), Siam Daikin Sales, and partners from the government and academia, including the Department of Health, the Department of Local Administration, the Association for the Promotion of Indoor Air Quality, and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi. Together, they are promoting air quality management in educational institutions, with the goal of creating the first "Dust-Free Classroom" prototype in the eastern region to provide clean air for local children to grow in a safe and conducive learning environment, with plans to expand to other educational institutions in the future.

Mr. Kasuhisa Hinasu, Director of Daikin Industries (Thailand) Co., Ltd. stated that this project reflects Daikin's long-standing commitment to grow alongside Thai society for many decades, under the concept of “Perfecting the Air – Creating Good Air for You.” The company believes that good air means not only comfort but also clean, safe air that positively impacts health, especially for young children in the center who spend long hours in closed classrooms, at risk of accumulating PM2.5 dust and CO2 gas beyond standard levels. The delivery of this dust-free classroom serves as a foundation for the health and strong learning of Thai youth.

In this delivery, Daikin installed a highly efficient air conditioning and ventilation system that helps reduce PM2.5 particulate matter and excess carbon dioxide levels, complemented by an Outdoor Air Processing Unit (OAPU) and air quality sensors, allowing teachers and caregivers to monitor in real-time. Additionally, two Daikin air purifiers were provided for actual classroom use, representing a comprehensive upgrade to the air quality in this child development center.

These technological advancements enable Daikin to effectively address dust and air pollution issues in at-risk areas and sustainably care for the basic health of children and youth. In the long term, Daikin aims to establish clean air standards by targeting net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, while developing energy-saving and environmentally friendly innovations, such as HRV ventilation systems and VRV air conditioning systems that have received a 5-star label, which not only enhances the quality of life for people but also supports the country's energy policies.

The launch of the "Dust-Free Classroom" in Rayong marks a significant step forward, building on the success of a pilot project in Chiang Rai, and is being positioned as a model for expansion to child development centers nationwide. This classroom is not just a safe learning space but also exemplifies Daikin's commitment to creating modern, quality air solutions that have a tangible positive impact on the future of the nation.

“The push for the dust-free classroom project will not stop at this child development center, as Daikin and its partners are moving forward to establish new air quality standards in Thai educational institutions. We believe that children who grow up in clean and safe air will be a vital force in driving Thai society towards a sustainable future,” Mr. Kasuhisa concluded.
